One I bought on iStock , author Imgorthand, the other I found it on Pixabay, free of rights, author xaline. I used Pastel card Sennelier and soft pastels from Girault, Schmincke, Sennelier and Caran d´Ache.
"Toward the stars" which is 50 cm high and 70 cm large, depicts an optimistic young woman. I have let me inspired by a photo taken by Cherie Flowers Photography. My american friend Britt asked her to take photos of her daughter, who just proudly graduated with distinguished high honors! I have changed the setting, the whole composition, lights and darks to make a portrait in the obscurity of dusk and so intensify the beautiful, smooth and self confident face of my friend´s daughter. Each month (holiday period excluded) the PastelGuild of Europe holds a competition for its members, the Get Dusty. Every PGE member may submit two paintings. The winner gets a prize.
