Laura Pollak is an award-winning artist exhibiting in international shows, museums and galleries worldwide.
Laura was born in Detroit, Michigan and has always had an affinity for the arts; studying ballet, piano and all forms of art.
She received her Master of Arts from Michigan State University and post graduate work at the Center for Creative Studies. Courses included many painting classes as well as graphic design.
The latter led her to a career in advertising at some of the largest agencies in the world with clients like Sears, Nortel, Kraft, Kodak and General Motors.
Laura and her husband moved to North Carolina in 1985, and she started her own successful ad agency with clients around the state and northeast.
Painting became her main career 14 years ago and she is now a full time professional artist.
Laura has put on 8 solo exhibits and has won awards in several venues.
Recently she won the top award in the International Bold Brush competition in Abstracts, sponsored by Fine Art Studio Online FASO. Pollak won first place in the Contemporary and Experimental Category in the Pastel Society of the West Coast International show, first place in the Pastel Society of North Carolina's statewide show, as well as the top award in Abstract at the Left Coast Pastel Society's International Show, along with numerous other awards in many shows.
Laura's work has been widely published in the Pastel Journal, the Pastel 100 shows, were she earned third place and several Honorable Mentions, and most recently fifth place in their worldwide show.
Laura is a Juried Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America PSA and a Masrter Circle recipient with IAPS.
