Rebecca de Mendonca is an award-winning pastel artist based in the South West of England, and is well-known for her pastel paintings of horses, landscapes, animals and people.
Having trained in Theatre Design, Rebecca is always searching for the atmosphere in whatever she paints. She particularly loves the wild landscapes of Dartmoor, near her home.
Rebecca is an Associate Member of the Society of Equestrian Artists, and won the Yoshimoto Prize with one of her pastels of horses at the 2024 UK Pastel Society Open Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
Rebecca teaches pastel courses in the UK and Italy, and also online. She holds monthly zoom pastel workshops, and writes for art magazines. Her book, ‘Pastels for the Absolute Beginner’, published by Search Press Publications is available now.
