Glen Maxion, our judge for the Get Dusty Competition June 2023, has chosen his favourites:

The winner is George Tsakiris with "No Swimming Today".Congratulations! George receives a certificate and a Mystery pastel box.

In second place is Arild Frisnes with "Twosome", in third place is Dorothea Schulz PGE with "Sisters".

Honorable mentions go to Ron Norp with "Fleur op het strand", Jeanne Corver with "Can I have your Cookie",

Charmaine Sievers with "Special Moments" and Sophie Parkhill with "First steps outside"

Glen wrote: It was a real pleasure viewing all the entries and sharing some of my thoughts on selected artwork. Congratulations to all who entered. There were many excellent paintings, and of course not all could be recognized. In judging the show, I considered every painting carefully and critically over several days of viewing and re-viewing. The paintings I selected were ones I felt demonstrated the strongest knowledge and skill in drawing, composition/design, use of color theory, and use of the pastel medium. Also ones that showed the highest degrees of artistry in expressing the theme of the show and producing artwork that was engaging and evocative.
